“I researched and compared 10 to 15 newborn photographers before selecting Kim Mlekuz. Kim’s photos were, by far, the most natural, creative, high quality images. Also, she managed to make every newborn, in every photo, look absolutely adorable and peaceful.
During our consultation meeting, Kim told us that it is easiest to photograph babies before they are 10 days old. Unfortunately, our daughter had a rough birth and needed to wait until she was at least 2 weeks old for her photo shoot. Kim was very accommodating with regards to moving the photo shoot, even though it meant working on Easter weekend. We were nervous about how things would go given our daughter’s “older” age and active temperament, but Kim had lots of tricks up her sleeve to keep our little one happy and sleepy. We were amazed at how gentle and patient she was and at how she managed to get our daughter into all sorts of adorable poses.
The pictures turned out so well that we had difficulty deciding which ones to enlarge! Luckily Kim offered to help us narrow it down.

“Being a new mother after years of praying for a miracle is a very emotional and thrilling time not only for me but for my entire family. With that in mind, we sought out a professional to take photographs of our daughter Olivia in a family heirloom gown. When we saw Kim’s website, we were instantly drawn in at how beautiful yet simple her pictures were and we knew she was the right photographer for us. Not only did she capture gorgeous pictures of our amazing angel baby in her Christening gown (which brought my mother in law to tears), we had a little fun and got an amazing picture of our baby as a ballerina! She looks tu tu cute!
Kim’s approach to me as a mother was very calming as she listened to what my needs were. She was also gentle and captured my daughter’s attention which lead to MANY beautiful pictures. “We were so lucky to find Kim to do our photos for us. She was absolutely fantastic and we have nothing but great things to say about the whole experience.
First, she came over to our house when our little dude was just born which really made it easy for us as new, sleepless parents. She was so patient while she was there as our little guy being brand new wasn’t on any kind of schedule at that time, thus needing to be fed often and was a bit fussy at the start. Her patience was important to me as a new mom. We felt very, very comfortable with her as she is very approachable and easy going which made it easy for everyone.
Kim was also extremely particular with her shots and fussed until she got it just right. This is obvious when you see her work – the photos were amazing and the colours so vivid. I can’t believe she was able to get the shots that she did while still keeping our guy asleep! Wow! Kim also really went out of her way to make the shoot unique to our baby and made sure to come up with some new poses/shots just for him which we really liked. And her poses were very modern, unique and not cheesy like a lot of photographers.
Another great thing was that Kim was very quick with her edits which was important as it meant we got our announcement cards out as soon as possible. I was also impressed as she was very organized and had tips we could use before our guy was born to make the whole process for the announcement cards even more efficient. She also took photos of my belly when I was pregnant and they were just what I was looking for, and again, ready so quickly for pick-up that we got the photo hanging in the baby room before he arrived.
She really is a person who will work with you to meet your needs. We had a great experience with Kim and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a baby/pregnancy photographer.”
